Hempel expands with Lacor acquisition
Hempel announced the acquisition of Lacor, with effect from January 1, 2007. Founded in 1989 and based in Merzig, Germany, Lacor is an international supplier of protective coatings and industrial paints. Lacor will be incorporated into Hempel Germany, complementing Hempel's geographical coverage of the German market, and enabling Hempel to enhance and expand the services it offers to new and existing clients. Lacor brings a competitive product range, a strong market position and access to interesting markets and customers in Germany and surrounding countries. With the combined strengths of the two companies, Hempel foresees significant business expansion possibilities.
