SLF Congress 2009

7-8 September

Sandefjord, Norway

The 19th SLF Congress will be held on 7 and 8 September 2009 in Sandefjord – Norway. SLF (Federation of Scandinavian Paint and Varnish Technologists) and NMLF (Norsk Maling – og Lakkteknisk Forening) – Norwegian Society for Paint and Varnish Technology is the organiser of the Congress. The theme of the 19th SLF Congress is: Painting the Future

We are living in a rapid developing globalised world where the use of coatings to protect wood, steel, concrete and other construction material is growing at an increasing rate. The use of coatings in new emerging and growing large markets like China, Russia and India is booming as the economy is growing. The impact the emissions from application of coatings have on our environment and climate is of concern for everyone. The world needs coatings to protect properties and constructions for the future, using coatings with the lowest possible impact on nature and climate, so that we can hand over a liveable environment for our future generations. This two full day congress will consist of plenary lectures and split sessions with original and unpublished scientific papers on developments in coatings technology that will be presented by European and lecturers from all over the world. Awards will be given for the best papers presented. SLF invites members of the other associations within Coatings Societies International – CSI (FSCT, FATIPEC, OCCA, JSCM, SCAA, SCANZ, SATER, and STAR) to join the Congress. Take the opportunity to meet colleagues, get updated on the newest developments in coating science and technology that will paint the future for our industry and experience the Norwegian flair and hospitality in the beautiful, maritime city of Sandefjord.
