Building maintenance price deflation
Keywords Buildings, Maintenance, Pricing
BMI advise that maintenance costs fell for the first time in ten years, albeit by only 0.1 per cent, between the third and fourth quarters of 1998. Prices were, however, still 4.5 per cent up on the previous year. The main factor behind the fall was the decrease in materials costs, particularly copper products. The BMI forecast a 4.7 per cent rise in 1999.
