Law firm Edge Ellison advises that the introduction of The Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 will remove the need for collateral warranties. Under the new legislation a construction contract can expressly confer upon any funder, the first purchaser or three successive tenants, the benefit of that contract.
