Early indications from DETR are that the Bristol-based pilot study into the proposed changes in home selling is going well. Exchange of contracts has been reached on five properties with time taken from the acceptance of an offer ranging from eight days to 32 days. This compares with 62 days taken to get to exchange on a typical sale nationally. Six surveying firms are involved in the pilot, providing the home condition reports which form part of the information packs.
