The National Radiological Protection Board has hosted an open public meeting to take on board public concerns about the health risks of electricity distribution and supply. Little scientific evidence of harm exists, although an NRPB Advisory Group could not rule out increased risk of childhood leukaemia associated with exposure to high levels of magnetic fields (not necessarily power lines) at home.
