BTU International (http:/www.btu.co.uk) has recently introduced a patented forced convection eductor system which is available across the range of BTU belt conveyors, pusher and walking beam furnaces.

The eductor consists of stainless steel coaxial tubing, the outer tube carrying cooling water, while the inner core draws process gas from the process chamber, cools it and reintroduces the gas to the chamber. The gas is driven by a venturi powered device located in the centre of the inner core.

Temperature transfer characteristics are greatly enhanced by the eductor, providing more efficient and controllable cooling than conventional water or air cooled heat exchanger systems.

Thermal performance in the heated sections of the furnace is also enhanced by the use of eductors atmosphere flow is driven by a venturi located within the piping. The venturi amplification factor enables large volumes of gas to be impinged on to parts at a selected point within the furnace process chamber.
