A new control system, added to the Asys range of conveyor modules, will recognise control outputs from all common PCB manufacturing machines. This gives the user the flexibility to redeploy conveyor modules anywhere in the plant as its requirements develop. PCB subcontractors, particularly, will find this valuable, needing to reconfigure production lines regularly to suit new components.

The German-made Asys range of automated PCB handling equipment is distributed and supported in the UK by Parkheath Ltd of Cardiff. Suitable for series or pilot production, it offers quite exceptional flexibility and the ability to meet the most difficult layout requirements.

The range includes more than 30 standard modules, including loading, transport, buffering, magazine loading and workstation modules, with automatic magazine changing, LIFO/FIFO, turnaround, inversion and changeover facilities where required. Walkthrough conveyors and gantry lifts provide easy operator access.

Closed loop control of drive motors gives smooth starts, stops and changes of direction. Control equipment is designed for ease of use, and with multihandshaking for easy interfacing to a variety of machine control, process control and monitoring systems.

Asys conveyors meet the latest European safety specifications, including VDE 0113 and IEC 204, and are compatible with SMEMA standards. Very high quality engineering, reliability and high performance have made the company the preferred OEM supplier to a number of major German electronic manufacturing systems contractors.
