Welcome to WJEMSD
We are pleased to present the first issue in 2012 of the World Journal of Entrepreneurship, Management and Sustainable Development (WJEMSD) published by Emerald Group Publishing, UK.
WJEMSD aims to be a forum for academics, practitioners and policymakers from around the world to exchange concepts, research and best practices about entrepreneurship and management. The journal aims to integrate the study of these disciplines to achieve sustainable development (SD) and help to stimulate debate amongst scholars, researchers and policymakers across the world with a view to defining common, effective responses to tomorrow's challenges. Given the apparently contradictory needs of economic growth and environmental conservation, it comes as no surprise that the impact of the global financial crisis on SD has had such a powerful influence in contemporary discussions on the future of our world.
Editorial board
WJEMSD's editorial committee is truly international in terms of the wide range of specialisation of its members and the validated academic background that they bring to bear on the quality of the review and the geographic areas from where they have come with different editorial experience.
Content of the first issue
This issue of the journal is ambitious in its intent and the response to our call for papers has been so high with many high-quality papers received covering a wide range of focus and scope of WJEMSD. The papers we selected have an interesting profile and covering a wide spectrum of topics and focus. The geographic breadth stretches across the world with contributions representing the outcome of many comprehensive research programmes undertaken in different parts of the world. The plurality of issues interrogated reminds the reader of the complexity of the subject matter under investigation and the multifariousness of the concept SD itself.
