Flying high

Engineering Animation, Inc., announced today that Alenia Aerospazio Aeronautics Division, the Italian leader in the design and manufacturing of military and civil aircraft, based in Turin and Naples, Italy, has selected EAI's Open Enterprise Visualisation solutions for product visualisation and digital mockup. EAI's solutions will be used throughout the division's facilities to support aircraft development, including the Eurofighter project, the European fighter aircraft being developed by Alenia Aerospazio, in co-operation with Daimler-Chrysler Aerospace (Germany), CASA (Spain) and British Aerospace (UK). EAI's solutions will allow multi-disciplinary teams within Alenia that include members from design, engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement and customer support, to develop new aircraft design. Open Enterprise Visualisation will enable users throughout Alenia to collaborate using one visual environment that integrates with Alenia's various computer-aided design (CAD) and product data management (PDM) systems and other data file types. EAI's solutions will integrate directly with Dassault Systemes' CATIA(R) and Parametric Technology Corporation's CADDS5(R), Alenia's CAD systems, as well as with Dassault Systemes' ENOVIApm(R), the company's PDM system.
