Glanbia Food Service, the UK's leading supplier of fresh and chilled foods to the catering industry, estimates that it will save more than £350,000 per annum in distribution costs after fitting joint TRACKER/BT Cellnet vehicle asset management system, Pinpoint TRACKER. The system, which utilises TRACKER's communicator technology, enables Glanbia and its clients to track delivery vehicles to within a few metres and record essential data, such as the vehicle location, mileage and speed, fuel consumption, driver hours and the temperature of goods in transit. With easy access to this new data, Glanbia has seen its customer service improve, as the company is able to supply clients with up-to-date accurate information.

Vance Fairman-Smith, Logistics Manager at Glanbia, said: "We chose the BT Cellnet/TRACKER solution because of the flexibility of the system and its excellent after-sales support. It has given us far greater control of the operating costs involved in running and managing the distribution side of our business and demonstrates to our customers that we are committed to customer service. I would certainly recommend the system to other fleet operators".
