Fit to compete

The Centre For Competitiveness is now Fit For The Future The Centre for Competitiveness has joined Fit for the Future as a new partner organisation. The Centre for Competitiveness aims to improve the competitiveness of corporations, companies, professional practices and small businesses. Through its research methodology, the centre can identify why some companies succeed and win, while others struggle or fail in key areas such as winning business, building customer relationships, purchasing, and creating and exploiting "know-how".

One of the centre's main research programmes is the Winning Business Best Practice Programme. This programme identifies critical success factors for winning and retaining customers in competitive markets. To date, over 2,000 companies and professional practices have participated. The business practices of "winners" have been compared with those of "losers" and reveal why some companies are much more successful than others.

Recent outputs from this programme include "critical success factors" reports, "best practice" case studies, practical bidding tools and techniques, key business development skills, in-house training and a benchmarking service which provides companies with bespoke reports highlighting where they most lag behind successful competitors.

For full details about this programme, including information about the centre's best practice reports and related benchmarking services, visit the Centre for Competitiveness Web site at: www.luton.ac.uk/cfc
