The previous chapters have discussed racism as an issue and concept, detailing its origin and evolution, as well as its key characteristics and manifestations in historical and contemporary societies. This second part of Racism and Anti-Racism Today moves to discussions of anti-racism. It engages with anti-racism as an intentional concerted effort that seeks to confront, alleviate or dismantle racism. Specifically, the five chapters examine anti-racism as an idea and action involving critical and logical principles and programmatic sets of actions, policies and practices. Taking an international perspective, the discussions in this part also present a comparative analysis of anti-racism across different countries. The chapters provide a brief history of anti-racist struggles, various anti-racism approaches, discuss some of the challenges facing contemporary anti-racism practice and conclude with future directions in the fight against racism.
